06.       Approval of grant renewals for School Health Pilot Programs

07.       Approval to contract with Murle Kitchen to assist with management of the Statewide Purchasing Program

08.       Approval of appointment of Bureau Director II for the Office of Curriculum and Instruction

15.       Approval to continue in effect Board’s Declaration of State of Emergency based on the findings that, pursuant to the continuing proclamation issued by the Governor of the State of Mississippi, a state of emergency continues to exist as a result of Hurricane Katrina and that, pursuant to the provisions of the Hurricane Education Recovery Act, federal funds have been allocated to address educational needs resulting from this disaster

16.       Approval of grant awards for Special Projects Appropriated by the Mississippi Legislature, House Bill 1559

17.       Approval of reports which contain student, fiscal and personnel data subject to State Board of Education policy on withholding Mississippi Adequate Education Program Funds for the 2006-2007 School Year (Policy No. DFBG-2)

18.       Approval to begin the Administrative Procedures Act process:  To revise language in current State Board Policy to reflect changes in the rules and regulations regarding the administration of funds appropriated for Education Enhancement Funds for Classroom Supplies and Materials, Pursuant to Senate Bill 2602, enacted by the Mississippi Legislature during its regular 2006 session

19.       Approval to modify contract with Harcourt Assessment, Inc. to add deliverables and reduce contract amount for the Subject Area Testing Program (SATP)

20.       Approval of modification of grant awards to existing Mississippi Reading First school districts

22.       Approval of an Accredited Status for Holy Child Jesus School

24.       Approval to modify the selected high schools to participate in the National Governors Association Honors Grant Program

25.       Approval of contract modification for Joe Haynes to continue to serve as Interim Conservator for the Holmes County School District

27.       Approval of amendment to the No Child Left Behind Consolidated State Plan to revise the methodology of the 21st Century Community Learning Centers Grant

28.       Approval of contract modification with Gulf Coast Education Initiative to continue to monitor and provide technical assistance to all nonpublic and private schools awarded Immediate Aid to Restart School Operations funds

29.       Approval to modify the approved list of Supplemental Educational Service (SES) Providers to add one provider and remove another provider

30.       Approval to contract with Florida Virtual Schools to provide online courses for students through Mississippi Virtual School

31.       Approval to contract with Aventa Learning to provide online courses for students through Mississippi Virtual School

32.       Approval of school districts with need for administrators to participate in the Mississippi School Administrator Sabbatical Program

33.       Approval to establish New Endorsement Code #909 for Elementary Special Education (K-6) for High Objective Uniform State Standard of Evaluation (HOUSSE) option as recommended by the Commission on Teacher and Administrator Education, Certification and Licensure Development

34.       Approval to establish New Endorsement Code #910 for Special Education (K-12) for Fundamental Subjects Test: Praxis II 0511 as recommended by the Commission on Teacher and Administrator Education, Certification and Licensure Development

35.       Approval to revise Middle Grades 4-8 Endorsement Codes from 4-8 to 7-8 to Align with Highly Qualified Definition as recommended by the Commission on Teacher and Administrator Education, Certification and Licensure Development

36.       Approval to establish the American Board Certification for Teacher Excellence (ABCTE) Alternate Route Program as recommended by the Commission on Teacher and Administrator Education, Certification and Licensure Development

37.       Approval to award a grant to MS School Boards Association to conduct continuing education courses for local school board members

38.       Approval of the Mississippi School of the Arts Wellness Plan

39.       Approval to begin the Administrative Procedures Act process:  To revise the Admissions Criteria for the Mississippi School of the Arts

40.       Approval of a five year, renewable Agreement for Service between the Mississippi Department of Education and Entergy Mississippi, Inc. for the Mississippi School of the Arts that will reduce monthly charges for electrical service on the Mississippi School of the Arts campus beginning July 1, 2006

41.       Approval to authorize the Mississippi School of the Arts staff to work with the MS Department of Archives and History to proceed with the removal of Elizabeth Cottage from the school campus in accordance with guidelines for historic property

42.       Approval of the Interlocal Agreement between the Mississippi School of the Arts and Brookhaven School District for 2006-2007 school year

43.       Approval of one-year grant to Mississippi University for Women to operate the Mississippi School for Mathematics and Science for the 2006-2007 school year

44.       Approval of grant with the University of Mississippi to manage the Mississippi Teacher Fellowship and Extension for Veteran Teachers Program
