Contractor will provide instruction and training to the Mississippi School of the Arts students in social studies through successful classroom management practices. She will create course goals, prepare syllabi, assign lessons, and evaluate student content
mastery utilizing multiple modes of assessment. The contractor will monitor and issue timely reports on student progress, keep
accurate attendance reports and regularly communicate with parents. She will prepare students for the US History Subject Area Test. The contractor has a master’s degree in social studies, holds
MS teacher certification, and has taught successfully during the first semester at MSA. This contract will enable her to continue teaching through the school year. The contractor is not a former Department employee or related to any Department employee.

orders for construction projects.
School districts are requested to submit any modifications to an
approved contract.

Office of Safe and Orderly Schools requests approval of final projects for
state public school building funds.
School districts are requested to submit closing documents upon completion
of construction projects.
19. Approval
of alteration in school district boundary lines
(Office
of Healthy Schools – Regina Ginn)
Section 37-7-105 of
the Mississippi Code of 1972, as amended, sets out the procedure to be used to
alter district boundaries or consolidate school districts. Subsection (1) states, in pertinent part, as
follows: “In the event the change in the school district lines are either
precleared by the United States Department of Justice, or approved by the
United States District Court, the State Board of Education shall formally
declare the new lines as the new boundaries of the school districts.” The Yazoo County School District and the
Yazoo City School District presented a Joint Motion to the United States
District Court for the Southern District of Mississippi. The two districts jointly moved the Court to
alter their school district boundaries pursuant to a Memorandum of
Understanding entered into by the Board of Trustees of both districts. The Court approved the Motion, authorized
the two districts to implement the terms of the Memorandum of Understanding,
and ordered the desegregation orders for both school districts amended to
reflect the change of boundaries.
